Hello and Goodbye-John

We've been here close to two months now.  Time is really flying by.  We weren't the only ones staying at the KOA.  A guy named John was living there for about 5 months.  He lived in the little playhouse which used to be Essie's playroom outside.  He was really a great guy.  He would always be telling us war stories, or some other far out tale, always making us laugh.  John was the one who had done some much making the KOA what it is today.   He also built a music stage trailer which is just awesome.  He plans to travel across the country with it.  Well anyway, this is starting to feel like something you say about someone at their funeral, and John is well alive and kickin.  He did have to leave here and go back to Wisconsin were he's from.  He's going to have a hernia operation soon, and his two daughters are there to take care of him.  He keeps telling me I need to open my own restaurant.  I usually just laugh, but the thought of it does sound pretty cool.  Who knows maybe it could happen some day.   We will all miss him so much.  He plans on coming back here in the spring.   We were just hanging around the fire one day and I decided to take some pictures for all of you.  The top is Aunt Cara busy in the kitchen!  Then I love the face Essie was giving me.  Then there's John, Uncle Blaine, and Gus.  The last picture was Essie's idea, like a totem pole.

  1. Well, THERE's everybody! Great to see all their smilin' faces. Tell them all HI for me. Too bad John had to leave but sounds like he'll be in good hands. And of COURSE a restaurant could happen! Put me on the list of people that believe that! I feel like I'm one of your first fans from back in the bungalow daze...:) Hey, went to Shorty's on Fri. My friend Joyce took me for my birthday. I had Liz's favorite - as usual. And yeah, yeah, my birthday's in July but it took us this long to make it happen. Good thing I love extended celebrations! Love you guys bunches! xo

  2. HAHA. I was reading your comment and when you said your friend Joyce took you for your birthday, I said Hey, your birthday's in July. Then I read the rest of your comment and laughed because you explained your birthday was in July but it took you that long to celebrate!
