We really got to leave with a bang getting to see two shows at Red Rocks two nights in a row! This has got to be the coolest venue we've ever been to. These huge red rocks pushed out of the ground many years ago. They're all over the park and two rocks in particular, Creation Rock, and Ship Rock lined up perfectly to create this like natural ampitheatre. Some engineers came in and put benches down and a stage in between the rocks to make it perfect for a concert. The great thing about Red Rocks Park is that it's open everyday free of charge to the public. You can walk, run, or ride your bike around the park. Walk your dog, and even walk around the concert area. The first night we got to see a new england based band called State Radio. They were really good kind of like sublime. They we saw Madescy, Martin, and Wood. They were good but a little too mellow after State Radio. Then we saw my favorite band John Butler Trio from Australia! Man what a concert they put on! They exceeded my expectations and more! The next night we saw some Colorado bands, Uncle Blaine, Aunt Cara, and Essie went with us! The first band was the Bodeans, good stuff. Then we saw Big Head Todd and the Monsters! They started their band in Columbine High School, and have been together ever since. Man those guys can rock for sure! I'm shocked they're not more well known around the country. What a blast! I can't wait to come here again.
