Mt Evans

Mt Evans is one of the fourteeners in Colorado.  That means it's 14,000 ft or higher in elevation.   We actually got to go to the top of it.  The road to get to the top is actually the highest paved road in North America.  It can be hot at the bottom but when you get to the top it's cold!  To be properly prepared, you'll want your snow jacket, hat, gloves, or any other winter gear.  It can be quit windy as well!  Gus opened his door to the jeep to get back in at the top, and the wind ripped the door right out of his hand!  It broke a pretty durable strip that helps keep our door from opening up so wide.  When that broke, the door opened so wide it smashed against the front of the jeep and busted a piece of under the mirror on the side of the door.  Man that wind was so strong I thought maybe it would rip the door off while it was at it.  Thank goodness it was bolted down.  Some of the snow banks on the side of the road were taller than our jeep!  It can snow up there any time of the year!   The views were amazing!  There was a few lakes up on the mountain as well.
