Well today was another beautiful day! Sunny and blue skies. We started this morning on our way to Cleveland, Ohio. It took us about 45 minutes or so to get to downtown Cleveland. We found out that the original house used in the movie "The Christmas Story", is in Cleveland! You can go there and take a tour of the house, restored just like it was in the movie! How excited we were until we found out it's only open thursday through sunday. We just can't stay here that long right now if we want to get to Montana on time. We were pretty bummed out. I guess we'll just have to wait till we come through Cleveland again. So we ended up going to another awesome place: the Rock n' Roll Hall of Fame! Man was that cool, seeing all these musicians past and present memorabilia! It was so great. We couldn't take any pictures of the stuff though. We were there about 4-5 hours. Gus' favorite was ZZ Top's drummer's custom drum set. It was nicknamed "sasquash". It had white furry hair hanging down from them! Iggy Pop custom-made duct tape shorts he wore on stage! (he basically covered a pair of jean shorts with duct tape). We saw John Lennon's green coat he wore for the cover of the Beatles album, Sargent Pepper's Lonely Heartsclub band, and his glasses. We saw Rodger Dawltrey's red football helmet from high school. We saw a shirt and some hand written lyrics from Bob Marley. Jim Morrison's cub scout shirt, leather jacket, cards he made for his mom, last will and testament, death certificate, lyrics. We saw Jimi Hendricks' stage outfits, original sketches he drew when he was a kid, and so lyrics. Elvis Presley's purple car, and stage costumes. Man there was just so much cool stuff I couldn't list them all. I really liked Stevie Nicks Stage outfits, they were beautiful. Later we headed back towards the campground. We stopped and got groceries, and printed some photos to send back home. We're cooking out now. We're tired and exhausted and we have along day tomorrow on the road again. Next stop Indiana.
Lake Erie comes right up to the city of Cleveland. Gus had to walk down over the roped area, down the rocks, and actually touch the Lake.
Sounds like you guys had a blast at the RNR Hall of Fame! I was just saying to Alicia yesterday, if they're going to Cleveland they HAVE to go to the Hall of Fame! Glad you guys are having such great weather, have a safe trip to Indiana tomorrow!
