Portland, Oregon
We woke up in the morning around 7:45 am. Those darn street sweepers were at it again. We didn't end up having any problems last night after all. We looked around to find an RV spot to stay a couple days. We had past one coming in last night on that same road. They really don't have as many RV parks as we thought they would. Anyway, we went back to the one, and drove around the place. They had two empty spaces, but the manager wasn't in the office at the time. He did post his phone number on the door, so we called him up. He said he'd be over in 10 minutes. We ended up getting one of the two spots. We decided to stay here three nights, so we could relax a bit, the camper could get a good charge, and to check out Portland. We had to wait for his ex-wife to come into the office at 1:30 to register us, so we hung out in the camper, did some dishes and some straightening up. Then after we registered we headed to downtown Portland. It was pretty cool. Lots of great little shops and spots to eat. The homes were pretty cool all different and unique. Of course then you have some usual city stuff, some homeless folks, and lots of traffic. I can't stand city traffic. They did have some great stuff for the city. They really encourage getting around the city on bicycle, so they have bike paths on just about every road! The city also recycles through businesses, and curbside. They also have pickup for compost. Portland composts. Thats awesome! Also you get 5 cents per bottle or can to recycle. We found a natural food store to do some much needed grocery shopping. Then we headed back to the camper to eat and relax.
