Went to Pyramid Lake with Clay. It's on an Indian Reservation. It's really cool, and deep blue. We heard a few indian legends about the lake. One was that the one stone formation is called the Stone Mother. She was sitting at the water with her basket and she was crying because her two sons were fighting. She turned to stone and her tears filled up the lake. Another story we heard was that the indians would toss there newborn babies into the Lake. If they would float, they were accepted and taken back out of the water to return with their family. It they didn't float they were left to drown. They have fishing contests at the lake. There's a wall of photos there of the people would have caught some pretty huge fish. Also the water turns itself over from the ground up to the service. That happens about every 3 years. In actuality the lake was formed from the over flow of Lake Tahoe in the form of the Truckee River. When we were at Tahoe we saw where the river flowed out and where it flowed into the Pyramid Lake.
We are a happily married couple since January 26th, 2002. We've had this dream now of living in an RV and traveling the US of A in search of new sites and experiences. Also we didn't want to have a job or obligation making us come back from our vacation! So we worked a lot, and saved some money for the past 6 years. Then we bought an RV moved out of the place we were living, and moved into the driveway at Gus' parents house. It's been a good 5 months in the driveway. Five months? Wow I didn't realize it's been that long till now! We're ready to leave and wanted to have this blog to keep everyone up to date on our adventure! We love Shorty's!
